Micki says...

CORPORATE BULLYING:  They just gangster our money, failing to refund it in a timely manner, most of the time.  While they hold your money & use it free of charge to make more money for themselves, they use every trick in the book to run you off!  It can be a brick wall.  They really make you fight for it.  This theft is such common practice, that it's difficult to choose just one bad experience of organized corporate theft, one-on-one direct theft of the customer's real cash, to relate here!   I'm going to talk this over with my daughter & we'll vote on the top several rip-offs we've dealt with lately, and get back to you!   They waste a lot of our time as well, and that's no small thing.  It is aggression in more ways than one.  Yes, it's bullying.

Thanks for kicking this feature off.  Hope to encourage eveyone who has a run in with these companies to come here and describe their experiences. By understanding the nature of these behaviors, we can become better equipped to combat it as a group of consumer rather than individuals who get swallowed up by these monstrous organizations.

:)Thank You so much for the piece on the disabled. I have a mental illness and have, and still do, deal with the stigma attatched to that, in many different aspects, everyday.  We live in a society where it is now the "in" thing to be medication free, as meds are the new biggest evil , and if one is NOT a racist? you are a minority.  it's unbelievable! I have found that it's exhausting trying to talk sense to anyone that cannot see it for themselves. And that it is good to find people that are still able to stay level headed in a world that is so uneven. :)

Hello, Matthew

Just a note to congratulate you on being featured in the Lounge Hotseat. As a dedicated fan of your inspiring and inspired Spadecaller video work, I'll definitely be watching the live interview. And many thanks for consistently (and courageously!) calling attention to racism, prejudice, political abuses, injustice and oppression in most compelling and beautifully crafted videos. It's a unique talent you have for calling a spade a spade in a way that engages the viewer by combining your excellent artwork and the very best music in vehicles that both educate and entertain. I have to admit to being brought to tears by some of the videos—and to anger and action, as well. Your most recent piece, "Don't Give Up," arrived at a time when I needed its message most (and introduced me to a moving reinterpretation of the classic Peter Gabriel-Kate Bush duet). Please keep fighting the good fight. And once again, congratulations.

Cheers from Canada!
Alan

Hello, I came to this site via the URL at the end of your very beautiful YouTube video featuring Ravel's "Pavane for a Dead Princess." Your video was a very aesthtically satisfying and moving marriage of Matthew Schwartz'swonderful  photography, excellent typography, well-chosen wisdom quotes, and sublime music. My late wife killed herself 2 years ago, so I have experienced profound sorrow, grief, and guilt. Your video has helped me in the ongoing process of not "getting over," but rather, "getting on." I've just finished reading the story on the theme of coincidence. It is a fine piece. Thank you for maintaining this important website. Racism and violence no longer have a place in this world. Despite almost overwhelming cruelty, suffering, greed and despair, kindness and love will prevail on our planet -- that is my firm belief.

Warm Holiday regards,

Alan K. Simpson, Toronto ON

Wow. I just watched Melanie's "Candles in the Rain" video. Who are you ? Where did you come from ? I was blown away...with a few tears in my eyes. Have you considered treating Edwin Starr's "War" the same way ?

Dearest Sir,

I first became acquainted with your art via a YouTube video and, after viewing more videos, poems, essays and art, I now feel I am acquainted with your soul -- and a beautiful one it is!  God's blessings.
